Happy 2018 readers! This makes me super excited to start year 3 of TheRefashStash!
I am really into this velvet theme right now! I think it is such a beautiful fabric for winter formal wear. I had this dress in my stash for awhile now, but it’s not like I could wear it when our weather was still so hot. Now, that the holidays have come around I was in need of a beautiful dress.
First order of business was to get rid of those sleeves. I think the sleeves really dated the dress.
After removing the sleeves I stitched up the arm holes.
I took in the bodice in by 1 inch, I used a straight stitch.
I folded in the back of the dress to make the bodice more snug on thee back, I did this because the keyhole back was a little too loose, even after taking in the sides of the bodice.
My favorite part of this dress, the back.
We celebrated the New Year with our usual crew of besties! I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year Celebration! I’m looking forward to making 2018 great!

You did a fabulous job of transforming that dated-looking dress into a va-va-voom dress. Well done. You look stunning!

Thank you so much! I love that you called it a va-va-voom dress! That is a perfect description! 🙂
