I have been holding onto this dress for far too long. I actually liked this dress as is, but then I wouldn’t have a refashion to share if I kept it the same. So I was brave and turned this shirt-dress into a skirt.
I have to apologize for not having any process pictures. It was a very short process.
I removed the bottom of the dress from the top using my seam ripper.
I sewed a thin casing for some elastic.
Threaded the new elastic through.
Stitched up the hole left to thread the elastic through.
That was that!

Oh I forgot to mention the best part….it has pockets! 🙂

Happy Refashioning!!!

Hi there! Welcome to my little blog! My name is Marisa, phonetically that’s Marie-sa! My goal is to change the way you look at outdated clothes by making you think outside the stitch!
I am a dental hygienist by trade but that leaves me longing to show my creative side and having something more fashionable to wear than scrubs!
I have always been interested in fashion and for years I have been dabbling in creating my own clothes. Now is the time to seriously get into refashioning and encourage you to do the same!
I hope this little blog of mine inspires you not to pass up those oversized unsightly pieces of clothing but to transform them into something beautiful!
Happy Refashioning!
