This refash starts with a sailor themed dress. I almost did not take this home with me because I thought it was too ‘costumey’. I thought better of it and took it home anyway!
Oh lord I look like I could be in the Navy!
Those sleeve have got to go!
I had to pull out the old stretched out elastic.
Used my bodkin to thread through my new stretchy elastic!
I took in the sides by 1 1/2 inches.
Took 5 inches off the bottom.
Made a new 1 1/2 inch hem. This was not very easy, the pleates made it very difficult!
Time to finish off the arm holes! I used black bias tape to break up the ocean of blue!
Now no sailor’s uniform is complete without gold buttons!
Ready for a night out!
The back!

Happy Refashioning!!!

Hi there! Welcome to my little blog! My name is Marisa, phonetically that’s Marie-sa! My goal is to change the way you look at outdated clothes by making you think outside the stitch!
I am a dental hygienist by trade but that leaves me longing to show my creative side and having something more fashionable to wear than scrubs!
I have always been interested in fashion and for years I have been dabbling in creating my own clothes. Now is the time to seriously get into refashioning and encourage you to do the same!
I hope this little blog of mine inspires you not to pass up those oversized unsightly pieces of clothing but to transform them into something beautiful!
Happy Refashioning!
