Hi there readers!
I must apologize. After my elimination from Refashion Runway I took a little time off from sewing. I wasn’t burnt out from sewing but I thought it would be a good time to recharge my creative batteries!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!! I sure did! The weather here in Michigan turned sunny and hot (perfect for the last hoorah of boating season).
Over the weekend our wood boat was in an antique boat parade!
I am so proud of all mine and my dad’s work to get our boat in the water this year!!
Okay my boat nerd is showing…onto a refashion!
I found this skirt on one of my latest thrift store scavenges! I love the pleats and hawiian floral pattern! But one sad thing….it had a streched out elastic band.
I opened up the casing of the skirt to remove the original elastic.
I then measured a new elastic band using 1/2 inch elastic. I threaded my new elastic through and stitched up the opening.
Fast and easy!
I wore my fixed skirt on our boat for the antique boat parade!
We saw 3 freighters on our way to the parade! I grew up watching freighters and it never gets old seeing them every weekend!
Parade time!
We even made it in the parade video! You can see us waving at 4:06 http://youtu.be/tiWVFNc2R04
Happy Refashioning!!!
I love the print of that skirt, great job!
